Dealing with the Aftermath of a Tragedy or Disaster - Resources

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (http://www.nctsn.org) and the National Center for PTSD are pleased to make the Psychological First Aid for Schools Field Operations Guide and accompanying handouts available.  Psychological First Aid for Schools is an evidence-informed approach for assisting children, adolescents, adults, and families in the aftermath of a school crisis, disaster, or terrorism event.

From the PTSD site from the Veterans Affairs, PFA Mobile assists responders who provide psychological first aid as part of a response effort.

 

The Maternal and Child Health Library offers a resource portal for information on reaching out to children and youth following a disaster or other traumatic event at http://www.mchlibrary.info/guides/reachingout.html.
