What is the Police Explorer Program?

Glendora Police Explorer Post 402 provides an opportunity for young men and women to experience firsthand how a police department functions and what it takes to get started in a challenging career in law enforcement.

Explorers receive hands on training in various aspects of police work. The training is presented at each regularly scheduled meeting by police officers and other department personnel. Some areas of training include: city geography, radio codes, traffic stops, handcuffing techniques, building searches, and traffic control.

Explorers can participate in ride alongs with Glendora police officers. This enables the Explorer to observe the police officer as they perform their duties.
