Our reference staff is available to proctor exams. The fee is $35, payable at the circulation desk. To arrange a proctored exam, the following steps should be taken:
- If this is the first time the Glendora Library will be proctoring an exam for you, please contact your school at least a month ahead of time in order for them to certify the library as a test taking center. Give your school the following contact information:
Glendora Public Library
Glendora Public Library
140 S Glendora Ave
Glendora, CA, 91741
Depending on your school, there may be a form(s) for the library to fill out and return.
- Once the library has been certified, you can instruct your school to send the exam and the proctor instructions to the contact outlined above. Depending on your school, this might be sent by email, or by regular post. You should ask your school in what format the instructions will be sent, and when the library should expect to receive this information. This should be done at least a week ahead of time, to ensure that that there is time for staff to receive and read the instructions and to make whatever arrangements might be necessary.
- Once you’ve received confirmation from your school that the exam has been sent, please contact the library by email. Include your name, the school you attend, the title of the class / exam you are taking, and whether the exam is written or online. You can also request a day and time to take the exam. Exams can be scheduled any time during normal library hours:
Mon – Wed: 10AM to 8PM
Thu – Sat 10 AM to 5 PM
A librarian will respond with a confirmation email. If you prefer a phone call, please leave your phone number and the best time of day to call.
Important things to remember
The fee is payable on the day of the exam. You will also need to bring a photo ID. It is important to be on time for your appointment, especially for online exams, as we will need to reserve a computer for you. It is also your responsibility to be aware of and prepared for whatever limitations your school will place on your testing session (such as the maximum amount of time allowed to take the exam, and whether you are allowed to use any study aids such as notes or a calculator). In regards to these conditions, the library will follow whatever instructions are outlined by your school.
If you are taking an online exam, please be aware that our computers shut down 15 minutes before the library closes every day.
